The Beginning: First Date!

A few days after Halloween, we had our first date. He was such a gentleman. He was dressed in a nice pair of khakis and a button up shirt, I was in a pair of my "good butt" jeans and a grey spaghetti strap shirt. I felt a little worried, because he was so dressed up and I looked like I was going to go to hang out at a friends house... He opened and closed the car door for me and off we went.

We drove around for a while trying to find some place private where we could talk some more, which in a small town, was really hard to find. We finally ended up at an old baseball field. It was getting dark, and I should have been worried... here I was out in the middle of nowhere, by myself, with this guy that I barely knew, and it was getting dark... but I wasn't worried at all. I felt so safe and comfortable with him. We sat on the bleachers talking about anything and everything. Then we saw a fox run across the field. It was a perfect night, in a perfect setting, with a perfect man.

The Beginning: The Meeting!

So I figured I should start from the very beginning, you know when James and I first met. So here it is...

It was only my third day of working at this grocery store and I was still pretty nervous and had no clue what I was doing... I can't believe they let me run that register all by myself... Anyways, he came through my line and he was soo freaking cute I hardly wanted to look him in his big beautiful brown eyes but I couldn't help but smile at him and I know I turned beet red when he smiled back! We hardly said two words to each other, he walked out and I just knew he had a girlfriend and I would never see him again but that didn't keep me from going home and telling my mom about this cute guy coming through my line.

A few days later, he came in again and bought a pack of gum and a drink, we still didn't say much. He then started coming in every Sunday, buying only some gum or something. We finally started talking a little. He did this for 3 months before he got the nerve to ask for my phone number. Boy oh boy that was a mess! My best friend was working with me that day and was yelling at me from a couple registers down. When I ignored her, she picked up the phone at the register and called mine to urge me to ask his name (yep I still didn't know his name!)!! He asked me for my phone number, I turned red yet again didn't say anything but was going to write it on his receipt.. He asked again and I kind of snapped (between my best friend and him asking me I was all flustered) and said "YES! I am going to write it on the freaking receipt!"

When he left, I felt like I was going to pass out! My knees were weak, palms sweaty. I was so excited but nervous. Later that night he called me and we talked for HOURS!! It was the most natural thing ever. I felt like I knew him my whole life!
